The following year, they opened Camp Greggmere for Jewish girls aged seven to seventeen, who principally came from the Northeast and Midwest. The camp closed in 1932. The site was purchased in 1935 by Glenn Loucks and Alice Kyle, who improved the infrastructure and buildings and opened Camp Birchmere (a secular girls camp) in 1936. Camp Birchmere operated into the 1970s.
