- The button was made and worn by supporters of the New Hampshire State Employees International Union. It was given to the donor on Thursday, November 30, 2017 by a member of the State Employees Union when they were at the State House. The State Employees Union calendar lists the event as "State House Visibility." On June 30, 2017, the union's executive branch contract with the State of New Hampshire expired. For months, state employees had been working without a new contract, unable to receive wage increases and address state employee recruitment and retention issues. The goal of the event was to raise public awareness that state employees had been working without a contract.
