A. Bottle. Clear glass. Rectangular body with convex front, beveled back corners, rounded shoulders, and cylindrical neck. Orange printed paper label on front: "DR. A.C. DANIELS' / H. B. O. / Contents 4 oz. / An Internal Lubricant for Hair / accumulations in Cats and long / haired Pets. / [directions] / DR. A. C. DANIELS, INC. / BOSTON, U. S. A." Blue metal screw cap. Embossed lettering on bottom of bottle. Bottle contains transparent pink liquid, full; dark sediment in bottom.

B. Orange cardboard box, 6.7" high x 2.5" wide x 1.8" deep. Printed on front: "DR. A. C. DANIELS' / H-B-O / An Internal Lubricant for / Hair Accumulations in CATS / and KITTENS. / Especially for Persian, Coon, / Angora and long hair pets. / Average Contents 4 oz. / PRICE 65 CENTS / DR. Provenance:

Part of the Wilfred B. Osgood Pharmacy Collection, consisting of the 1870s-1950s contents of the Knox Pharmacy (owned by Fred L. Knox) and Roberts Rexall Store (owned by George C. Roberts) in Farmington, NH. Wilfred Osgood purchased both pharmacies in the late 1940s/early 1950s, and kept the original furnishings from both stores. During the 1970s, he created a pharmacy display room from the contents of both stores. This collection is the contents of that display. The collection also includes manuscripts, books, photographs, and printed ephemera, transferred to NHHS library (1992-068.)
