- Wood engraving, women on a staircase, by Frank French (1850-1933). One of 39 pages in Volume 2 of a two-volume set. Black ink on tissue paper. Vertical rectangle. Procession of women descending staircase. Most of the women carry instruments, including herald trumpets, flutes, and cymbals. All are dressed in long white dresses. Procession disappears through doorway in lower left. Window in upper right, showing sky, with pottery on sill. Signed in pencil below image "Frank French / Sc. 1892 -", right.
