- Wood engraving, river scene, by Frank French (1850-1933). One of 56 pages in Volume 1 of a two-volume set. Black ink on tissue paper. Horizontal rectangle. View of shore across a river. Hills beyond have a few trees near the bank, mostly open fields. Boat is beached on far shore. Water is calm, sky is partly cloudy. "F.French / O [woodpecker] W / W" in lower right. "Copyrighted" in pencil below image, left. Signed in pencil below image, "Frank French / Sc.", right.
