- Wood engraving, Mabel Among the Daisies, by Frank French (1850-1933). One of 56 pages in Volume 1 of a two-volume set. Black ink on tissue paper. Vertical rectangle. Girl in field of daisies. Three butterflies and one unidentified insect flying; one butterfly over girl's right shoulder, one butterfly in front of her left shoulder, and third butterfly half off right side of field, extending onto margin. Field of flowers extends from bottom of image up to girl's shoulders, then empty sky to top. Girl is wearing frilly bonnet with hair coming out the front. Nervously holding two fingers from right hand in left. Ring on right middle finger. Printed on image "Frank French Fecit" in lower left corner. Signed in pencil below image, "Frank French / Sc.", right. "Copyright 1891 By" printed above signature along bottom edge of image. Icon of woodpecker on side of tree with "O W / W" underneath below signature.
