- Hand-colored photograph of Mount Washington from the Ammonoosuc River, NH, by Charles H. Sawyer (1868-1954), Concord, NH, 1928. One of 35 photographs in Volume 2 of a two-volume set. Autumn view with green and red shrubs in foreground; blue river with rocky shore; dark conifers on left; red, green, and yellow deciduous trees on right; snow-covered Mount Washington in background; and blue sky with pink and gray clouds. Photograph is adhered at top edge to larger piece of gray paper, creating a 1/8" border. Gray paper is adhered at top edge to heavy paper album page. Titled in pencil below photograph, "Mt. Washington + the Ammonoosuc". Signed in pencil below photograph, at right, "Sawyer".
