- Hand-colored photograph of Echo Lake and White Horse Ledge, North Conway, NH, by Charles H. Sawyer (1868-1954), Concord, NH, 1928. One of 35 photographs in Volume 1 of a two-volume set. Sandy shore and Echo Lake in foreground; red, yellow, and green trees on far shore; White Horse Ledge in background; and blue sky with pink clouds; autumn colors are reflected in lake. Photograph is adhered at top edge to larger piece of gray paper, creating a 1/8" border. Gray paper is adhered at top edge to heavy paper album page. Titled in pencil below photograph, "White-horse Ledge, North Conway". Signed in pencil below photograph, at right, "Sawyer".
