- Hand-colored photograph of Mount Washington from Bretton Woods, NH, by Charles H. Sawyer (1868-1954), Concord, NH, 1928. One of 35 photographs in Volume 2 of a two-volume set. Dirt road in foreground, large tree with green foliage on left, red and yellow foliage on right, conifer trees in middle ground, snow-covered Mount Washington in background, and blue sky with pink clouds. White � on image, lower right. Photograph is adhered at top edge to larger piece of gray paper, creating a 1/8" border. Gray paper is adhered at top edge to heavy paper album page. Titled in pencil below photograph, "Mt. Washington in October, Bretton Woods". Signed in pencil below photograph, at right, "Sawyer".
