- Hand-colored photograph of Franconia Notch, NH, by Charles H. Sawyer (1868-1954), Concord, NH, 1928. One of 35 photographs in Volume 1 of a two-volume set. View of Franconia Notch looking north up the Pemigewasset River. Rocky river in foreground, red and green trees and each side, Indian Head (Mount Pemigewasset) on left, purple mountains in distance, and blue sky with white clouds. Photograph is adhered at top edge to larger piece of gray paper, creating a 1/8" border. Gray paper is adhered at top edge to heavy paper album page. Titled in pencil below photograph, "Franconia Notch + the Pemigewasset". Signed in pencil below photograph, at right, "Sawyer".
