Quilt. Three quilt squares. Block quilt construction. Each an assemblage of nine pieces of plain woven cotton and wool delaine fabric (see notes), center 4.5" square, four corners of 2.5" squares of fabric matching center, with four 4.5" x 2.5" rectangles of a differing fabric on all sides. Hand seamed 0.25" with 10 running stitches/inch and pressed flat.
1. One center and four corner squares of grey wool weft/brown cotton warp delaine. Four rectangles of a printed cotton warp/wool weft delaine with a check pattern of brown, green and white with a red spade in the center.

Four rectangles of brown delaine with a wool weft and cotton warp. White lines in the warp direction are a result of the inability of the cotton fibers to absorb the wool dyes (see notes).

Four rectangles, with selvedges visible on three sides, of printed cotton warp/wool weft delaine with a brown ground and pattern of two toned violet flowers with a red center. 2.75" x 1.75" area of color differentiation (brighter color) found diagonally on one of the rectangles, possibly from a label or tape.
