A collaboration, Lea Stark embroidered this Asian silk needlework picture for a fire screen made by David Lamb, which she bid on and won at a New Hampshire Furniture Masters auction held on March 18, 1998.

Lea Stark was a lifelong collector and traveler, but her passion was embroidery. She created unique Asian-inspired designs that took hundreds of hours to complete, eventually expanding to Erté style work and her own designs. She exhibited her work at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate, the Mill Brook Gallery and the Sharon Arts Center.

Born in 1958, David Lamb moved to Canterbury Shaker Village in 1972 where he became influenced by the Shaker traditions of craftsmanship. That same year Lamb began an apprenticeship with master cabinetmaker from Madrid, Alejandro de la Cruz (1924-1990). This traditional training in the fundamentals and foundation of good design, exquisite craftsmanship, and strong business/client relationships was followed by formal schooling at Boston University's Program in Artisanry. Under the guidance and instruction of Jere Osgood and Alphonse Matia, the opportunities of self-expression and experimentation were added to his earlier training. As Lamb has grown as a craftsperson, his work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Traditional Home Magazine, The New York Times, NH Home Magazine as well as NH Outlook and major trade journals. Lamb is a founding member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters and served as chairman of the organization. In 2010 Lamb was made the fifth Artist Laureate of New Hampshire by Governor John Lynch because his contributions have enriched the arts community of the state.
