- Silhouette. Portrait of Lamon Dale (1803-1876) of Wilton, NH, c. 1830. Paper. Hollow-cut profile bust, facing left, within oval. Details, including hair and collar, in black ink. Decorative gold border around oval, on black painted background. Pencil inscription on reverse of paper: "Lamon Dale. born in Wilton / NH. December 2d 1803. / And here is enclosed / a lock of his hair - / wrapped in paper". Black fabric behind paper. Gilded wood frame with glass (cracked). Accompanied by lock of brown hair within a folded piece of paper (2010.012.02). Framed.
