Descended in the Ffrost and Sawyer families until the spoons were sold by descendant Charles H. Sawyer (1909-2005) to a Michigan antiques dealer, who in turn sold them to the donor. They are related to two card tables (1983.002.02.1-2) owned by Mehitable Sheafe Ffrost and her sister Elizabeth Ffrost, given to NHHS by George F. and Charles H. Sawyer in 1983. The Society also received family papers documenting the purchase of domestic objects for the daughters of George Ffrost.
