- Painting of White Island Light, Isles of Shoals, by John Burgum (1826-1907), Concord, NH, c. 1890. Oil on artist board. Horizontal rectangle. White lighthouse on rock ledge; short octagonal building in front; enclosed inclined walkway on left; crashing surf on right; dark sky with purple storm clouds, except for an area of blue sky above the lighthouse. Oval printed paper label on reverse of board, upper left corner: "PAINTED BY / J. Burgum Son, / CONCORD, N. H."; label also inscribed in pencil, "White Island Light / Isle of Shoals / 3.00".
