Bust length portrait of an older man with white hair, and small white chin beard, white collar, black bow tie, black jacket facing straight ahead, looking slightly left with a small gray background. "Engd. by A.H. Ritchie", "David Whitcomb" facsimile of signature printed beneath the portrait.. On the reverse in the upper right corner in pencil "WC M / Purchased April, / 1980, from / Colburn & Teggs, / Hollis,; N.Y. / $2.00". At the bottom of the page in pencil and script."David Whitcomb / of Worcester Mass. / Hancock N. H. 1808 - 1887 / envelope mfr."
