Waist length portrait of a standing man with a receding hairline, dark straight hair, white collar, black cravat, dark vest and waistcoat with a wide collar and four round buttons, facing left with a light gray background. His right hand rests on a table. "F. D'Avignon", "J.C.Buttre", "Danl Webster" facsimile of signature printed beneath the portrait. On the reverse printed in pencil at the right top, "Purchased April 1980 / from Colburn Tegg, / Hollis, N.Y. $3.00", "N.H. Hist. Soc."
