Bust length portrait of a balding man with short hair, short side beards, white collar, black bow tie, dark buttoned vest and dark jacket facing left with a small gray background. "Yours Truly / John Symonds" facsimile of signature printed beneath the portrait. On the reverse printed in pencil in the top left corner "from Gazetteer of / Cheshire County".
