Long bust length portrait of an old man facing right, thinning white hair, some combed forward and some down sides, creases on forehead, folds on face by nose and around mouth. Dark coat with wide lapels and collar, high buttoned vest with 4 buttons, white shirt with turned-up collar, wide dark bowtie-cravat. Dark gray background to left and right of shoulders. Above that is light gray background in upright oval. All of this is centered on light gray upright rectangle. Facsimile signature: "Thomas Perkins" that shows slightly unsteady hand.
