Bust length portrait of a man with short wavy hair, white collar, military jacket with two rows of gold buttons, gold braid on shoulders, looking left with a background of a field with dark trees and dark clouds. "FROM AN ORIGINAL DAGUERREOTYPE", "S. W Kearny" facsimile of signature, "Engraved by T. B. Welch especially for Graham's Magazine" printed beneath the portrait. ON the reverse printed in pencil "Stephen Watts Kearny (1794 - 1848).
