Bust-length portrait of middle-aged man facing left, dark hair with traces of gray by temple, military dark coat with dark collar, ten buttons in two columns, bars on his shoulders with two stars on dark field, straight upward white collar; slight gray background either side of head. Below portrait "Engrd. by A H. Ritchie". Facsimile signature: "D. G. Farragut." Flourishes underneath signature.
