- Provenance:
- Part of the bequest of household furnishings, fire bucket, Civil War sword, ointment packaging equipment, silver, silhouettes, and other misc. items and manuscripts from home of Montgomery Herbert, Concord, N.H. The Herbert family has lived in Concord, N.H. since the 18th century.
These spoons are of William B. Durgin Company's Fairfax pattern, which was introduced in 1910 (after Durgin's death) and became very popular, both locally and nationally. The H monogram on these spoons are for Herbert, and they were probably made for the donor's parents, Mary E. Glover (c.1856-) and Charles A. Herbert (1849-1913), who were married in 1879. - Credit Line:
- Bequest of Montgomery Herbert
