- Description:
- Piece of steel rack (center rail) from Mount Washington Cog Railway. Cut from longer piece. Consists of two right-angle pieces connected by two cylindrical pieces welded in place. In use, the cylinders mesh with the teeth of the cog wheel (pinion) of the locomotive. Angle pieces are 3" x 3" in cross section. Cylinders are 4" long x 1.4" diam. One of the angle pieces has an old crack that was welded on the top surface.
