Description:

Decanter. Commemorative liquor decanter, porcelain, in shape of tour boat "Mount Washington." Presented to Gov. John H. Sununu by New Hampshire State Liquor Commission. White boat with raised lettering on each side, painted red: "MOUNT WASHINGTON". Painted figures in windows. Blue painted base with white lettered decal on one side: "M/S MOUNT WASHINGTON / Lake Winnipesaukee". Black lettered decal on other side: "*1872 Launched as a Steam Sidwheeler-Alton Bay / *1940 Reconstructed as a Twin Screw Steamship / *1942 Taken over by Coast Guard during World War II / *1946 Rebuilt at Center Harbor and now sails Lake Winnipesaukee". Black lettering on stern end of base: "JOHN H. SUNUNU". Printed sticker on bow end of base, white lettering on blue: "LIQUORE CASALINI / AMARETTO LIQUEUR / 56 PROOF-PRODUCT OF U.S.A.-750 ML / CARAMEL COLOR ADDED / PRODUCED AND BOTTLED BY / CASALINI, LTD.-SOMERVILLE, MA". Oval stopper in shape of smokestack, with Mount Washington flag decal on each side. Two removable plastic flags on metal staffs, one American and one Mount Washington, to fit in receptacles at bow and stern (American flag, with shorter staff, goes on stern). Impressed lettering on bottom: "MSW-3 / N.H. SERIES / LIQUOR BOTTLE". Printed oval sticker adhered to bottom: "CONTAINER / MADE IN JAPAN". Produced for New Hampshire Liquor Commission by M. S. Walker Co., Somerville, MA.

With original paperboard box and styrofoam packing. Blue box, 5" x 13" x 6" high, imprinted "MOUNT WASHINGTON / TOUR BOAT / DECANTER / Prepared and bottled by M.S. Walker, SOMERVILLE, MA. / 56 [proof symbol] / 750 ML". "Gov. Sununu" written in ink on top.

With printed certificate, 3.5" x 5": "MOUNT WASHINGTON DECANTER / CERTIFICATE / This Certificate is being issued to validate the production of / the Mount Washington Commemorative decanters. These / decanters are being produced in a limited quantity and will / ultimately become collectors' items. / The number indicated below signifies the numerical order / of production of your decanter. / Retain this certificate. / No. 1".
