- Embroidery fragment. Square. Unfinished. Possibly intended for a bureau scarf. Hand embroidered cross-stitch design of red wool on a white basket weave ground. Pattern of three geometric borders with a scrolling design in each corner. Four edges hemmed 0.25" and top stitched with blanket stitches, 3 3/25 edges have a row of crocheted chain stitches, one end has 2" of excess thread, the other 11.5".
