Description:
Machine-made tapestry table throw with a scene of Middle Eastern-type figures on a body of water; two are in a canoe-like vessel and two are seated on shore. Man on shore wears a turban and traditional loose-fitting garb. Woman in boat strums a stringed instrument, while the accompanying man rows the boat; he wears a fez and is shirtless, with armbands and a wide sash tied around his waist. Sailing boat in right distance, and a village with a minaret can be seen in left distance. This scene is set within a scrolled medallion. The sides of the throw are bordered with Eastern-styled floral motifs, with butterflies inside the corners. The throw is self-fringed; gold foil threads are woven on the ecru background. Possibly a tourist's souvenir from a trip to the Holy Land.
