- Description:
- Maple sap spile, hand-carved wood. 0.27" diam. hole drilled through small diameter branch or trunk. Outside surface has many carved areas to create shape. Part of body has been carved smoothly down and toward end to create open trough. Front end tapered for insertion into tree. Some wear on tapered sides. Small imperfection on top of body where there is a short, narrow groove. Finish is slightly shiny in some areas.
