Quilt. Made by Julianna P. M. Walker (1825-1910), Loudon, NH; 1862-1875. Pieced, with a design of eight-pointed LeMoyne stars arranged in vertical columns, alternating with straight columns of the same fabric that is used in the stars, which is a pale blue and white printed stripe. There are seven stars in each of the four columns, and the outer rows are half-stars emanating from the outer solid stripe. The stars are embellished with white piping in the seams emanating from the center. The blue and white striped fabric was reused, as old stitch lines are plainly evident in the solid columns. The edges are bound with the blue and white stripe on the bias. The backing is plain muslin. Quilting is worked in chevrons at 7 stitches to the inch with white cotton thread.
