- Petticoat, quilted. Green silk crepe lined with brown plainweave cotton. Quilted with cotton stuffing. Gathered into a white linen waistband. Ties in back. Waistband is original while front has been altered. New dyes came in 1856, mauve, beige, and green. This is a good example of changing dyes.
