- Description:
- Military uniform coat, probably militia, early 19th century. Red, heavy wool coat with white wool flannel collar and band down fronts and on cuffs. Wool, fulled, plainweave, wool twill trim, silver metal buttons, glazed calamanco, wool lining tails. Button-down flaps on shoulders and small corded caps on sleeves. Ten flat metal buttons on each side of open, round front; one large and two small buttons on sleeves. Four buttons on pockets and four buttons at back. Two large inside pockets.
