Tablecloth. Woven by Sally Sawyer (1797-1866), Sharon, NH; c. 1820. White linen, woven in a Bronson weave with a geometric block pattern of squares filled with diamond shapes and divided by striped sashing. The tablecloth is constructed of two panels of cloth, but appears to have been cut down, as the center seam is not selvedge-to-selvedge as would be expected, but a flat-felled seam with cut edges, inexpertly whip-stitched. The two sides are selvedge, and the top and bottom edges are hemmed by hand.
