Large portrait of FDR, with the words "BACK HIM UP!" above the portrait. Signed lower right, ink over pencil, "Archy Frank McDonnell". Below signature is "NRA" and a stencil of the NRA eagle logo. Poem, done in calligraphy, on lower left: "In any major crisis there, / Must be a man to lead, / A man well qualified to see / And meet the country's need. / A man with keenest intellect, / A man whose blood is fired, / Who thinks and talks and acts as though / He were a man inspired. / A man whose faith in fellow men / is worthy of the trust / That, by their choice, they place in him / To do the things he must. / In this great crisis, party lines, / Should have no part to play, / For all should help this man to solve / The problems of today. / This is no time for 'sour grapes' / Or wise 'I told you soes'; / We should unite in common strife / To battle with our foes. / So back the leader that we have, / Back up the N.R.A., / Success can never be attain'd / If each one pulls his way! / R.J. PROWSE". Modern black wood with mat and plexiglass.
