- Purse. Board or wood covered with dark red leather. Hinged lid; front locking clasp (broken); two chain handles on lid. Gold stamped along lid edges; several large sequins as decoration. Interior fully papered (pink); mirror attached to lid interior. Written on bottom, ink, "y r r / 1.87 with [glass]". 3.25" x 7.25" x 3.25". Contained 14 1844 merit cards of Martha J. Bartlett, some with signature of Levi or Susan Bartlett; cards copied for accession file and transferred to Mss.
