Provenance:
Lois Clark and her husband (d. c1996) owned and operated Wheeler & Clark Rubber Stamps, Concord, NH, c. 1930 until retirement in 1995. They purchased this cash register, c. 1960, to replace the cash box that they previously used for the business. They purchased the register from Fred Brown (formerly of Brown & Saltmarsh), also in Concord, NH. This item was the one and only cash register for Wheeler & Clark from the time it was purchased until they closed the business; Mr. Clark opted to never get a new machine. During those 35 years, the shop was located at three Concord places:
1.) 27 North Main Street
2.) 9 Centre Street
3.) 25A South Street (next to Ideal Market)
