Signed at lower right, "Rowell / May 9, 46". Original mat marked in pencil with title, "Early Spring in Dunbarton" at lower left and name, "Rowell" at lower right. Gray-painted wood frame, matted, glazing.

- Marjorie Prescott Rowell Sturm (1892-1960) -- Concord, NH. Lifelong resident of Concord, painter and commercial illustrator. Accomplishments include greeting card designs for Hallmark, numerous maps and brochures, paintings, magazine covers, as well as book illustration (Needle in Hand, Martha Stearns, 1950).
