Description:

Dress. Cotton, plain weave printed check floor length, probably fitted to bodice; pleated in back allowing for bustle; wrist-length tight sleeves; band cuffs; small neck with lace collar (appears added as tacked down); pearl buttons all the way down front center seam; lined with heavy muslin in bodice and hips; pocket in side seam at right; later additions of a similar material were made at the hem and at the side bust-line seams; the fabric is a brown and white checked print with a lace-imitation printed on fabric along sleeve edge; front button seam edge and hem. Hem tape.
