- Description:
- Dress - brown silk taffeta bodice, fitted, one bone either side of fronts, flaring below waistline with pleated back, short peplum effect. Long, tight sleeves, narrow stand-up collar. Cut steel buttons with notched edges down front and two buttons on sleeves. Lined with brown cotton twill; sleeves tan polished cotton. Long skirt, inverted pleats down front. Full, overskirt at back pleated horizontally at sides to accommodate bustle. 4" box-pleated ruffle around bottom of skirt lined with stiff polished cotton; brown braid around bottom of skirt. Lined with tan cotton plain weave.
