- Dress. Two piece brown gauze dress with narrow silk bands of white and brown. A) top, and B) skirt. Fibers: Linen or ramie of silk. Lino weave into gauze. Linen plain weave lining--bodice glazed cotton at hem. Worn by Harriet Newell Wells Barney (1838-1909).
