- Description:
- Dress. Red silk taffeta dress of Sarah J. Johnston (1835-1926). Rose red and black satin and watered silk stripes. Fitted bodice, no bones, round neck, opened down front, lined with homespun linen (glazed cambric bodice lining, silk and cotton in sleeves) . Drop-shoulder sleeves pleated at shoulder, very wide flaring in a point at bottom. Full, gathered skirt.
