- Description:
- Woven carpet. Kilim flat-woven Oriental carpet, woven with bands of hexagonal motifs filled with geometric designs, especially triangle shapes. The colors are predominately madder red, dark blue, and cream, along with black, medium blue, green, light golden yellow, and beige. Weft-faced slit tapestry weave; wool warp and weft. On one dark blue/black band, a small stylized yellow bird has been embroidered. The sides are selvedge and the ends are self-fringed; the fringe is knotted.
