Description:

Spur, Civil War. Brass and steel. Consists semi-circular piece of brass, flat on inside, slightly rounded on outside. At open ends are circles with horizontal bars in them, 0.7" diameter. Midway between ends at bottom of arch, solid rib extends out 0.13", 0.35" wide x 0.24" thick. Some parallel decorative depressions at top. End expands a bit and has vertical slot cut in it. In slot is steel spur that rotates on shaft that passes through brass arms on back end. Twelve points around diameter of steel disc.
