Behind plate, chamfer starts again, extends to rounded back corner and then down side to a notch about halfway up edge. Chamfer on right mirrors that on left side except no gap along top edge. Two horizontal D-shaped holes passing through body near front and back with flat side on bottom. Horizontal slots adjacent to holes toward ends of body. These have wooden wedges in them to hold extension arms that pass through them. Two arms pass through the holes that have downward extensions at left side that rest on top edge of a fence section. Decorative molding shapes outward edges of downward extension pieces. Fence piece with vertical surface facing body. Front, bottom, and outer surfaces of fence have molded shapes cut in them. Fence is limited to arms with iron rivets that pass through diamond-shaped, brass inserts that conform to top surface of extension arms. Bottoms of rivets are flat, circular shapes. On inside fence surface is rectangular cutout that accommodates an adjustable iron, sole plate surface on main body. Some wear scrapes on vertical fence surface from front to back. On right side of main body is a recessed, quarter-round trim area which is above a brass and iron fence system. Iron sheet ~1.7" high x 0.11" thick that has brass strip at top edge and the two are riveted to body. Front edge of this fence has V-shaped surface. A front iron and brass assembly is also riveted to body. Rivets are all roughly, flathead, round pieces. Semi-circular cutout area back edge front iron fence for chip clearance. Rectangular, brass piece on top of body in front of mouth area that is secured with two iron single-slot screws. Vertical brass thumbscrew that is used to adjust height of iron sole plate. This sole plate is relieved on inside surface to clear cutting iron (missing). Inverted stamp on heel, worn, roughly rectangular, serrated edges, "WM" with "M" underlined and superscript, then "MOSS". Below that is three-letter stamp, serrated edges: "J. G. H".
