- Description:
- Sofa (loveseat), Rococo-revival style. Mahogany, with red velvet upholstery edged with red rick-rack. Has serpentine back and arms with carved floral bouquet center back and scrolled wooden hand rests. Carved acanthus leaves on center of skirt. Additional leaf carvings at tops of legs and scroll carvings at bottom of legs. Rear legs flare out. Brass casters on all feet. Bottom has fabric covering tacked to underside with round-headed nails (fabric on bottom probably needs to be removed to find any markings). On back of crest are several round indentations with a hole in center of each one. It looks like there was previous yellow upholstery under the red as there are bits of yellow thread seen.
