- Description:
- White quilted bedspread. Central design is a basket, double quilted in diamond pattern, containing flowers and foliage. Bows on basket. Border very deep consisting of oak leaves and acorns. Trapunto technique (quilting having a raised effect made by outlining the design with running stitches and then filling it with cotton), white on white. Cotton top on linen sheet.
Small stuffed work bedcover of fine white cotton. The design consists of a central basket of flowers; the basket rim is peaked and tipped with bows. A 14-inch-deep border of vines with acorns and leaves surrounds the basket, and cornucopias are worked at the inside corners. The motifs are worked with a very fine backstitch, and then stuffed with loose cotton from the back. Tails of the cotton stuffing protrude from between the threads of the coarsely woven white cotton backing. Only the motifs are stuffed; there is no batting or quilting in the background, which causes the cover to pucker badly. The face fabric is seamed up the center. Front to back binding. The backing fabric is also seamed up the center. - Material:
