Path in woods, center foreground, leads to small one-story cabin at right, partially obscured by trees. Trees to left and right in middle and background. Light streams through trees at left. Signed "W P Phelps", lower right with a cat-like sketch in parentheses. Nameplate on frame: "THE WOODS / W.P. Phelps." Gilded gesso over wood frame with convex center molding.
