- Set of four whetstones for axes, made by Pike Manufacturing Company, Pike, NH. Contained in salesman's sample box (.01), along with seven oil stones (.02-08). Four rectangular stones, two gray and two black, in square yellow cardboard box (cover only). Box imprinted on three sides: "PIKE'S / FAST CUT / Small Axe Stones / Price 10cts. Each."; "IMPART MEDIUM COARSE / EDGE / USE OIL OR WATER / PIKE'S STOMOIL / WILL GIVE / Good Results"; and "AX STONE" on image of stone. Box top imprinted "PIKE'S / WHETSTONES / ARE THE / BEST." Company logo on top and one side: "P" with pike (fish) through it; "ESTABLISHED 1823." inside "P".
