- Canning Jar. Aquamarine pressed glass; quart, cylindrical, ground lip, mould seams straight through lip and body to base. "4" printed on bottom. "MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30th 1858" printed on front. ZInc screw-top lid with kline solid white glass stopper. "THE HERO FRUIT JAR COMPANY PHILA. PA." printed around perimeter of stopper with a cross with initials H, F, J, Co. in each of the transepts in center. Same cross in center on top of lid.
