Central scene depicts a European country scene with two ladies and two gentlemen in the foreground, all facing each other and standing near a chapel and ruins. The chapel has several sculptural figures in it and has an onion-shaped dome. In the background is a castle and mountains. The women are wearing long dresses, shawls and hats. The men are wearing suits with long coats and top hats. The rim decoration includes four clusters of flowers with vines in between. That decoration is repeated on the exterior of the bowl.
