There is an outward, curving, scalloped rim which arches upward to form a broad lip over the spout. The rectangular cover has four slightly concave sides rising and meeting at the finial in the form of a stylized flower with lobed petals. The underglaze transfer-printed design is in deep blue, of the type known by the generic name of "Staffordshire Blue".The scene on the teapot, obverse and reverse, shows a large structure in the background with two low wings and a central projection. There are trees, a sailboat on the lake and cows in the foreground. The remainder of the outer surface of the body is decorated with floral designs, as is the cover. There is a vernicular design with dots on the spout and outer surface of the handle. There is a raised mark: square on the bottom with a dot at the center.
