- Knee buckle. Made by John Ward Gilman (1741-1823) of Exeter, NH, 1780-1800. Cast convex silver buckle. Oval, with nail-head and rope design on front. Hinged copper chape and two-tine tongue. Originally worn by Col. Nathaniel Gilman (1759-1847) of Exeter, NH.
